on my EBII i wanna put a sporty exhaust on, but cbf paying for one at the mo (have a trans am that needs to be put in a jig, woot)

Has anyone modified their existing exhaust system (read: taking out mufflers), and have any tips on which muffler(s) to remove to get the thing sounding a bit better (yes I like loud exhausts:P).

If i'm not mistaken the stock exhaust consists of 3 mufflers and a cat, are the stock exhausts suited to this kind of treatment (ie is the pipe thick enough etc)

thanks guys!

I've heard of a few people who have removed the two resinators (small mufflers one at the front and one at the rear) and had no change of noise. So it sounds like the big muffler does most of the work. If that's the case you can't just remove it and leave nothing as it'll be way too loud to not attract the cops...

Sports exhausts at like $200 make it just not worth stuffing around wih the stock one in my opinion.

You can remove the rear resonator... I did that on an EB I had years ago when I was a poor apperntice... made it go quicker and louder so I was happy. But I was 19 and stupid...

hehe.

I like your style Chef.

I'm 18 and stupid so we'll see how we go hey!

I don't want it excessively loud (ie i wasn't impressed with my mums 69 mini with bored out 1100, 1275 head, cam and twin carbs with a virtually straight through pipe. couldn't even talk in the car when cruising at 100km/h casue it was too loud!) but the engine has a nice note and i want to flaunt it .. ;)

my eb currently has no mufflers, twas the way i bought the car, basicaly cat back press bent 2.5" straight piping to a rice canon (thank god its tucked up under the rear bar so you cant see it), with a 4" dump tip, yes its loud i want to add amufler or scrap the whole thing and go mandrel, it has a very different note to most falcons but does sound good just a tad it loud so i might just add a few hotdogs to try and quieten it down a little bit
