In smartlock equipped ED Falcons, is it a single point or dual point immobilizer? I is thinking it's only single on ignition side, but hey I've been wrong more then... well f**k, I'm wrong all the time. Insurance company wants dual point, but if I have to f**k around getting an aftermarket one fitted I might go somewhere else.

I thought there was only one, but the EBII-ED diagram I'm looking at does have smartlock as an interlock in the starter relay line. I'm pretty sure smartlock power in these models are like the later ones, with the courtesy lamp fuse - pull it, the smartlock light should go out, try and motor over - if it doesn't, at least you'll know the starter is disabled as well.

How many independant systems are disabled, e.g. starting, ignition, etc. Hope this makes sense . . .

well, i only SOUNDED like i knew what i was talking about... I think each point is a way off shutting off the engine from starting.. i.e. fuel cut, 1 point, ignition, 2 points.. i think...

i didn't mean to quote myself by the way, that was just f**k silly... snap0964, what do you mean "as well?".. let me try get my head round this.. if conditions for smartlock aren't met, i.e. correct key in ignition, the interlock between ignition and starter motor isn't open. but will it also cut power to spark? if so would that make 2 points?

Smartlock kills the starter, AND fuel injection (the ECU won't work at all).

That's 2 points.

Nah, that's okay - I'd take it as 2 point, starter system & Ign system.
