well after picking my car up from the smash repairs last week I noticed that the drivers side door would'nt lock from outside or inside.
I know the smash repairer stripped the passenger door and it works fine as the car was involved in a front end smash.
So would I be up for the cost of a new door mech or the smash repairer will?

You need a new door mechanism, I paid $30 from a wrecker, and ford wanted $100. This seemingly small part is also a large pain to install, as anyone who has done this before will agree.

check the little rods inside the doors going to the actual key barrel on pass and drivers side could have come loose and got stuck
