It possiblty won't go that low..You'll need a very light spring in there...You can run up to 7 Lp or so before map says enough!!! Retard spark untill proper tune to hold detonation at bay...
You have to run some boost or you'll end up with surge....

i agree, you might not be able to get the boost that low.
how long is a little while?? why just wait until you can do it properly? |

Yeah run 7psi or so. the stock injs, fuel pump and rising rate reg will give you 170 odd wkws with some retarded timing... thats a proven 170 too

so say if i ran 5 psi would the car lean out. also would it be an idea to have a air/fuel ratio gauge to
and with such minimal boost would i have to intercool it

I would get an air/fuel guage just to make sure, you can get them off ebay pretty cheap some times. I paid $64 for mine including postage.

Im currently running 10 psi boost on standard ecu and injectors. Ive got a high flow fuel pump and 12:1 rising rate reg. So no you dont need the ecu and injectors but it would be advisable. My engine runs very rich and even when driven sensibly fuel consumption is somewhere in the region of 20 lts per 100ks (s**t house). I spoke to Joe at Cresent today and its going in in the next couple of weeks for ecu, injectors and tune.

You would probably be better off saving up to do it properly, if your only getting 20l/100km's you would probably be better off not having it fitted and save the $$ you would be spending on the fuel towards a decent fuel and computer set up.
Cheers. Dave. |
