hows it goin guys

I got a EF Falcon, 5-speed manual, berkley extractors, hi-flo cat and 2.5" exhaust. The speed is alright but I was wondering how much of a difference will the cold-air intake actually do. I wanna giv it more acceleration with out spendin s**t of money

It won't be anywhere even close to the difference you experienced by putting your exhaust on.

Just expect your car to rev a bit free-er.

I think you would be dissapointed, I doubt you would gain more than 1-2kw (if that even).
Cheers.

Exactly what I was thinking
This was just coming from a mate who thinks he knows what he's talking about
What do you reckon the next possible way to give the car some boost though without spending 3-4 grand
I was thinking possibly of a new chip, camshaft or maybe just getting an XR6 rear axle just to change the ratio

If you think a CAI will give massive power gains you're mistaken. But it will combine nicely with your exhaust mods and a lumpier cam.
Good little "stage 1" setup right there.
The diff would make a huge difference too to acceleration, but your economy will probably go to s**t depending on the ratio you go to.

For s**t all money, I'd go a Wade 1604 cam. That will probably set you back under $200 if you can fit it yourself (or con a mate ;) ) and will give you much more power than a CAI will.

Having said that, don't be turned off a CAI, There are a couple of good threads going at the moment. I'm looking to get more cold air into my air box (already have an AU III XR8 intake) All the little things while not making much difference all add together :)
