Hey there,
A mate of mine is considering putting a set of Grid 2's (225/60/15's) on his VS ute and I've read some mixed comments about them. (Can't change his mind about the Holden thing though...) Any comments.....?? Any suggestions. |

they're pretty good, but useless in the wet when they're 1/2 worn

I thought they didnt make grid2's anymore and now were doing the grid3.
I had some on my other car that i use for occassional club racing and i though they were not to bad for a street tyre. I got 4000km out of the rear tyres and the fronts are still good - my fault for the rears. I like em. I have replaced the rear now with Michelin and the grid2's were better. |

I've heard they are really good on the Commodores, not as good on the Falcons.

I've had mine on for about 4 weeks now, very happy with them. Much quieter than the Goodyears the previous owner had on it. No problems in the wet and handling is good.

I have a set on me wagon. They are great, I run them @ 40psi and they just dont let go . The rears are geting down and are still good in the wet. the rears have been on the car for 80000km so they last a bit. I've been told that the grid2 are no longer made but you can still get them if you look around, But the grid 3 are replacing them. The Grid 3 had a good report in the wheels mag a few months ago.

Yeah I have a set of G' Grid II's on my front and have had them for a few months now and they stick like glue to the road in the dry but in the wet tend to slid me Falcon a bit, but not as much as the G'Grid 1's use too slide.

Both mine and my wifes cars have Grid IIs, she's had hers for 5 years and doesn't have any problems with them in the wet.
Previously i had some Goodyears on my EL and they were bloody dangerous on a wet road.

Fantastic grip though - in both wet and dry! Funny isn't it. On my wifes Lancer she has 3 Grid II and 1 Grid III and they are very noisy (195/50/15) On my EL I have 215/60/15 and I find them much quieter

Yeah they are nice and quite. I also have the 215/60r15's as well.

I prefer Toyo's for low profile (235/45/ZR17). Awesome cornering, quiet and can't beat them in the wet. They have a real nice tread pattern on them too. Think the model is"Trampio"? Grids are a still a great tyre I must say.
