i was wondering is there a problem with bosche alternators when idling the voltage drops when under load its an eb2 it had a mitubishi before and it was alright and my old ea did the same thing .i just bought it because alot of people said change to bosche .

I thought EA to ED were fitted with Bosch, and Ford moved to Mitsubishi for EF onwards.
But anyways, I've seen this in a few friends EA's and EB's. It was either the drive belt was old, slipping or loose. Or the voltage reg was rooted, and a new alternator fixed the problem. |

What are are you powering at idle, a big amp, etc??
What is the voltage reading from a multimeter? A bosch alternator is good because once you have one it is easier and cheaper to rebuild. |

nothing different a small sony amp just all the fairmont stuff its a fully reco alternater the mitsubishi had no problem at idle never moved this bosche one like at night with lights on its raining wipers on heater will a better earth cable between engine and body might help

I have found that my dash gauge reads lower than what is really happening at the battery.
