Yeah so i droped my car in to the auto place to get all the auto flushed out and replaced. While going for a stroll i got a phone call, yeah we put your car up on the host and found that your auto is leaking where the tailshaft enters the box and it will need a new rear main seal replaced on the auto. I was so shattered so i ended up just gettin a normal service on the auto $139 and the seal replaced $110. I know it is nothing big but i wanted to save up for a sports steering wheel  ohwel that is my adventure for the day. She still runs great though so cant ask for to much more.

Do you know if they also replaced the rear bush that is behind the seal, common for them to wear as well. Most replace them with a V8 bronze bush.

s**t $110 for the rear seal!

bit steep the seal is like $25 tops
and should only be a 20min job
remove tailshaft 4 bolts, remove old seal, put in new seal!

I'd assume that the rear bush and seal was replaced for that price even then a little steep concidering the cars already on the hoist.
Cheers

I do and I assume DYL is too as he is describing "where the tailshaft enters the box"

i know how it hurt when you are saving for something. I took mine in to get the tranny serviced as well, and just to check my power steering as it was slowly dropping oil, went from $180 to, s**t, about $500 or $600. And i found that my head gasket is gone so that has to be done.

And i was saving up for whiteline suspension (i was about a fortnight off having the moeny saved) now i am about 10 weeks away again :x

Oh... and i think the shop that did it let my A/C gas out as well, they said the hoses must have been leaking and they would happily fix it for me for $x00 and another place put new gas in it and dye for $60 and it is going strong 2 weeks later!!

I know what you mean guy's, it hurt's the pocket alright.

I wasn't saving up for anything in particular, I've done all the modding I need to at the moment, but when your engine is at the stage mine is, and something goes tit's up (like it has, it's off the road at the moment), it's a costly affair. Money just goes out the window.
