For the second time in 6 months my power steering switch s**t itself and to my dismay when i went to change it the rack was found to be stripped in the thread. Now l must put a new rack in so are there any tricks, seals or hints l will need to know or is it a simple change over. Cheers.

its a simple change over.
if you can block up the hole somehow then do that, it won't hurt it.
the switch is just there to increase the revs a bit when you turn while the car is stationary so it doesn't conk out.
we have had the switch blocked up for over 2 years in the au2 taxi with no problems.

Very handy to know although it's too late now as i've changed the whole rack. If it goes again then i'll block it for sure
