has anyone seen the ad with the new Jeep thats out. It has a v8 hemmi motor in it and it shuts off 4 cylinders automatically when cruising to save fuel. I recon its a great idea with thr price petrol is these days.

Does Holdens new LS V8 do something similar to that, or does that in fact drop back to 6 cylinders.
Makes it a nice package in a car in this day and age.

Yep the new LS2 does that. Its called displacement on demand. This is the way of the future.

Nah the LS2 has provision for it, but doesn't have it yet.

Unless it's running rough, bit like an EA with a blown headgasket.

Yeah it was mentioned in all the media hype about hte LS2. DoD it is. And the LS2 drops back to 4 cylinders.
