Here here! Not unless on a forgiving dyno, which at the end of a day is not a true indication of its power!!! <--- take note!!!

Look mate im not having a go... its just what ive seen and been told by my brother who is a reputible mechanic who owns a garage with an inhouse dyno. i help out with him quite often and ill be the first to admit that i dont have anywhere near the knowledge or life experience of some members around here but, i am merely stating from what ive seen and experienced first hand. i was going to be a mechanic, but i decided the better of it and now im at university thankyou very much.

My bro and i cannot understand how you guys get these high figures... surely it must be the dyno's or operators!?! we have dynoed countless I6's... the best we have seen is an EL futura with exhaust and tuned length extractors pull 115rwk... but never have we seen such an I6 with exhaust mods get any higher.

I really didnt mean to get up your nerves nor did i need you questioning my intelligence. this is a public forum mate... an opinion is just an opinion... u dont need to get all antsy over it. and at the end of the day as stated many times before we shouldnt be arguing about figures like this... a dyno is merely a tuning tool. peace out.

if you and bro are so experienced on a dyno then surely u must know that there are many variables that will affect the reading. who's to say your readings are correct!!

how do you explain a ba gt and a pursuit ute being run on same dyno on same day only minutes apart and yet one had 220 odd and other had 240 odd. identical running gear. same driver/operator. this happened in a motor mag not long ago. engines are not hand built and so these variations exist, although the journo did bag the manufacturers wondering how, in 2005, you could have that kind of tolerance.

128.4 kw that is.

Im presuming on a dyno dynamics dyno though.

Pod filter will also bring your kw reading down, a k&n or redline panel filter, queensland spiral core ignition leads or eagle f1 spiral core ignition leads, decent plugs (iridium etc) and the cold air intake (3" mandrel bent pipe from box to t/b) would bring you the extra 5-10rwkw (no s**t..)

Im looking to buy some new leads so Im wondering where I can buy those brands as im not familiar with them..

I have beaten a VY Calais Gen 3 (i know tank and auto) to 100km my well over a car length, he got next to me about 110-120. On a private road though, and we had 3 runs. On a rolling start he just pulled away from me.
