Just wondering if any one here has chnged there front shocks themself and whether you need a spring compressor? EF.

Yes you do. You can pick them up for around $20 from super cheap or autobarn.

Yeah, spring compressor, But if you change down to low springs, you won't need one . .. (to install the new spring) .. but removing the oil spring, you MUST use one .

Otherwise You will get the end nut from the shock flying 200mtrs away .

just wire it up while the car is still on the ground with some fencing wire! :D

Much easier to thread through compressed coils.. :shock: No no no.

A set of compressors is the way, I've seen wire slide on the coils jamming fingers (ouch). Not me BTW.. :wink:

MRE-40L will change ur front springs without a compressor :D Generally while he's doing this I move around to the front of the house for shelter.

The car is a good spring compressor, undo the nut while the car is still on ground. Easy.

use them, better to be safe then sorry

the springs have a lot of energy when loaded up
