I have a CAPA water/methanol injection kit to suit EA-AU Falcons (could easily fit many other cars too). Very neat install, tank sits in drivers side wheel arch with filler located just in front of the battery. Comes with tank, mounting brackets, pump, tubing, boost switch, wiring and low water level light. Cost $435 (only done 500-1000kms) selling $250.
Although primarily used on turbo/supercharged engines, this could be used on a NA engine with a rpm switch instead of the boost switch, which I can supply for an additional $40. BENEFITS: Cooler and denser intake charge reduces combustion temps and prevents detonation Allows more timing or boost Increases fuel octane level (with a methanol mix) up to 120 points of octane. Removes carbon buildup from combustion chambers Here is a a link to the CAPA page (http://www.capa.com.au/capa_performance_water.htm), PM me for any more details or questions. |

I can only go on what I have heard from manufacturers as I have never seen any actual dyno results on a NA engine. I have heard it can add 10-15hp on a NA engine depending on the climate you are in. Basically it should keep the intake charge at around ambient temp under most conditions therefore you will always have max spark advance. If you run a methonol mix you will also increase the octane level therefore could run more advance. As I said these are generally used for forced induction but there has been a bit of interest in NA water injection lately so I just thought I would add it.

I am interested - just a question, why are you selling it ?

Selling because I am making a custom water/methanol tank which sits in place of the battery and may as well sell the kit complete and start again. |

on a stock NA engine you WILL loose power. because you are adding water (it does not burn) the water is taking up space where there could be air/feul. on a hard worked engine with really high compression it can help BUT only if you have to much compression and can't use the RIGHT amount of spark advance. |

Depends on who you talk to, most water injection companies make NA setups and claim power increases, but I have never seen any independant dyno results. And yes you are adding water but that is partially offset by the reduced temp which increases density, the other benefit is the ability to run more timing or at least maintain full timing on knock sensor equiped cars. As I said it is designed for forced induction and that is where you will see the best results. |
