so, after long investigations with falt spots and so forth, I decided to check the fuel reg by just unplugging it. The flat spots are gone at full throttle, and the car pulls ALOT better.
So, obviously I need a better fuel reg... As far as replacing it, I know it screws off the fuel rail, but as most of the fuel regs Ive seen relate to the V8's, what is available for the I6? and do they just screw back onto the fuel rail? Im not very educated in this area. Cheers for all input

It may be that the standard regulator on your car is stuffed and replacing it with the standard unit will work fine for you.

Yeah, might be worth putting a T piece on the fuel hose with a pressure gauge and check the pressures while revving the engine - just to see if your reg is running to spec. The only spec I've got for EB is 200Kpa at idle (I6) - will go higher if the vaccy hose is disconnected from the reg.
I6 EEC IV fuel regs sit on an extension arm off the fuel rail, I6 EEC V regs sit on the end of the fuel rail rail, bolted on in both cases - same item. XR6's run a higher fuel pressure, and later EEC IV cars run higher pressures as well - e.g. EF/EL/XH series I6 225Kpa at idle (XR6 250Kpa) The rating is stamped on the reg.

The standard reg is all you need for a stock motor... dont waste your money on an aftermarket reg
