BA has oval exhaust ports, instead of the roudies the others have. So if getting extractors, need to get the right kind.

I dont care what the rest of these guys post in theory, i belive what is written above seeing as it has been physically tried and tested and proved that the BA is a DIFFERENT motor completely, but I will concede that EA-AU is technically the same, BUT after the EL the exhaust ports changed so you need different exhaust if using the AU head.[/quote]

OK, so its obvious that the head is completly different, but that isnt a prob.
Will the head bolt onto the 3.9 block, and will the valves clear the pistons? Or have they changed the stud pattern? |

It could be easier than you think....to fit a ba6/t into an earlier model.
The BA6 can be run off an aftermarket ecu, all off a crank sensor, and the ecu can also run all the coil on plug [ LinkPlus ecu ] You should be able to run VCT using a PWM output either from the ecu or a controller, as a function of engine load / rpm. BTR box is controlled the same as earlier 4 speeds, so *should* be able to run off the std auto ecu from an ea or eb/d V8. You wont have all the adaptive shift, or tiptronic style shifts, but it depends if you really want all that or not.. |
