bit the bullet and bought one new from ford.
$110 for genuine new one in grey.

great little pointer my mate gave me AFTER i bought the damn thing... ask some taxi drivers, still a lot of EF's around where the drivers kept the double din one to retain their radio while having their taxi equipment in there.

find an ex-taxi at a wrecker (most ef/el's are going that way by now) and u should find one

not a great thing to hear AFTER u paid $110 for a bit of plastic... *grumble grumble*

what are you using the double din for, premium stereo upgrade or your gaming system.

main h/u is a pioneer 8650. running a p-bus cable so i can have aux-in
the screen is a caska 7" widescreen. my mate has been importing them, so i got a chance to see one working before i bought it. was very happy, and got it for less than $1k.

6.5" infinity splits up front running off pioneer 2X80WRMS amp, inifinity 6.5" co-ax's in the back off the h/u and HPF'd. infinity kappa perfect 12.1 for a sub, running off JVC amp putting around 400WRMS - 600WRMS into it. thumps pretty hard in a sealed box.

PS2 on the back seat running off a jaycar 300W inverter. great playing NFS Underground 2 when bored. GF was playing it while cruising last nite, got some funny looks when she was trying to drift and kept stacking it!!!

also, i'm currently making music video DVD's, with about 35 clips per DVD. music for the driver, entertainment for the passengers.

like i said, i'll try and get some pics up soon :)

ps. damn screen is a bastard to fit, i have it in the bottom DIN but the screen angle is still pretty ordinary cos it hits the dash (EF)

Yep, mine currently sits on a 90de. angle, but i plan to move it out a bit more so i can get it better, just cbf!
If you put it in the top DIN it will stick out of the radio bracket too far n look s**t, ya just cant bloody win :P

lol, i hear ya daniel

i drilled my brackets so i've got the unit out as far as it can go without looking too stupid. when the screen is in, it sticks out like a sore thumb, but when the screen is out and activated, looks fine. best viewing is from the back seat tho :x
