:D just bought a sik mod chip on ebay for my au

he reckons it'll give me up to 20% more hp
modifies stock ecu
a little about it:

This resistor connects to the Intake Airflow Temperature (IAT) Sensor and hence it will send different signals to the ECU. So you don't even open the ECU box and hence no cutting or soldering is involved. Once the resistor is installed and reprogrammed the ECU which is just a play with the fuses, the ECU will read that the air coming in through the intake is cold air; think of it as a "default" setting on the ECU. When the ECU reads this, it lean out the air/fuel mixture-in other words, it will take in more air, and then add more fuel (around 0.5L per 100 km as tested on 1.8L engine) to compensate for the extra air coming in, thus, producing more power and advancing timing 1 to 2 degrees, however, unlike the other cheap mods, with this mod, your engine will not go beyond the it's maximum capacity. This is how this mode is 100% SAFE, 100% LEGAL and 100% REVERSIBLE I use it on all my vehicles and all my friends do too. Its the easiest, cheapest and fastest mod to install. This mod will fit fuel injected models (non-turbo, non-supercharged, non-diesel, non-gas) cars and trucks from 1990 AND NEWER.
it only cost me $12
what do u guys rekn??

Ford put sensors in for a reason, and it wasnt for people to bypass them with static resistance values.

I highly doubt it. You're just lying to your ECU about the temperature of the intake charge.. in most cases the theory is to richen the intake (the colder the intake charge, the more fuel the ECU will pump in).. and therefore your car will run richer than what it is now.. which means less power and worse economy.

If they're attacking from the other angle trying to lean the mixture out, you risk pinging and burnt valves at the expense of maybe 1RWKW gain.

take a read of that.

first it says it will lean out the mixture.
then it say in other words the engine will take in more air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that is impossible. a resistor WILL NOT make an engine take it more air..

this scam has been going around for years and well like i siad if your dumb enough to believe it, well you got what you deserved.

by the way that resistor they are talking about can be bought from JAYCAR or d**k for around 20 cents
