Hey guys...im new to this forum (1st POST :D) , ive currently been chatting over at FFAU until i found this site...i registered not that long ago and ive just been reading threads here, i really like the layout of this board..anyways i was wondering...a wade 1004-12, how much of a performance gain can i expect to get roughly?

I dont no much about cams...im new to everything really, i have got a full exhuast system + K&N pod (doesnt do much at all) + 3:23 single... i was at autobahn monday night, this guy was tellin me my best bet is to get a crow cam, which adds power from 1100 to 4400rpm, what rpm does a wade 1004-12 help out in?

thanks!

- Grechie

ok so do you have an auto or manual?

i've a crow cam, and i can promise you it doesn't kick in @ 1100rpm! mine kicks in ~2500rpm

theres a few very good threads in here about cams - the 1604 cam(?) i think sounds very good - i'm tempted to swap my stage 2 crow cam for one! :P

yep - 2500rpm upwards, although most cams won't really kick in much earlier than that really!

pft
wade stage 2 cam is cheaper and will u give u the same performance as a crow stage 2.

But you wont notice much of a difference, maybe .2-.3 off ur 1/4 mile time if ur lucky.

custom grind and chip is the way to go :P

well if you have an auto and standard ecu i can very much recomend the 1604 from wade... very nice idle which is well suited to and auto box.
Also as everyone else has said you really wont notice too much below about 2500rpm and this goes for most cams.

kicking in lower would really gimp the higher rev range power where she normally makes her power now.

I have a far more decent response at 2000 with my 1604. The torque is strong, then when it hits around 3000 the revs just start winding up with power all the way to 5500. Perhaps some loss below 2000 but nothing really noticeable.
