Hey guys,

I was talking with a few guys about how to run in the Vortech when it finally gets installed.
ATM i am probabably getting a Wolf ECU, so i wont need a MAF.
I am just wondering if there would be any problem, setting the car up, and running it in, with the standard, MAF and 19lb injectors. As i have 36 lb injectors to go in.
It would just make it easier to get intercooler plumbing done and easier to run in the blower before i get it tuned with the new ECU.
I know i wouldn't and definately shouldn't go anywhere near boost, if this can be done.

Cheers Dave

Yep, she'll be fine dave.

What i would suggest - is get the blower connected to the drive belt and make sure the oil feed and drain work properly.

Then just dont plumb it into the intake. i.e. have it pushing air straight from the outlet into nothing. Maybe some sort of filter over it as you dont want any s**t getting into the compressor housing.

Also, run an air filter on the blower inlet so it doesnt suck in any crud.

Unlike a turbo which can overspool if not hooked up, the supercharger will only spin as fast as the engine/pulley gearing allows.

You'll have to make a frankenstein setup with the inlet tube (i.e. brainstorm up a way to plumb the MAF into the intake line with no air leaks between MAF and the TB) as the blower will sit where your airbox/maf currently sits. You'll also need a filter for the engine's intake.

You wont have to worry about boost but you will still need to keep the RPM below the levels we have talked about whilst you run her in.

Hope that makes sense.

Yeah the hardest thing will be rigging up an intake pipe because once the blower is in there it leaves no room for anything. It would probably be easier to actually rig it up properly and use use the stock MAF in a draw through setup, but yeah just dont get it on boost. I may have a full CAPA piping setup spare in a week or so (intake and discharge etc), if you can't rig something up let me know and you can borrow it for a while.

Cool, thanks Grant.
I may be alright, as i might be able to get someone very local to me to tune it all. Just gotta go find out now. I'll get him to do a basic tune without revving it too high, then run the blower in myself that day, and get him to fully tune it once the blower is run in.

Cheers Dave
