The Fuel/Spark map is a single tune, however it has been tuned with the BBM switching at 3800rpm. The engine has far different spark/fuel requirements depending on the position of the BBM.

Don't I know it :( , running as rich as in the top end and making a whole 81.8rwkw (with stnd manifold I made 97.3 and quite lean) because of the fact

going even more off topic, what fuel reg and computer are you running. Isnt the fuel pressure for EA-ED 250kpa and EF/EL 275KPA (and XR's 300kpa)? If so your injectors will be squirting more fuel than the computers think.

EA injectors, stock EA computer (yes i know, upgrade it, hence this thread for a start :) ), EL reg 270kpa they are, EF fuel pump.

250 vs 270 aint that big a difference, about 8% higher fuel pressure.

so are we sure that the bbm is not opended and closed by vacuum and the wires going to iit from the ecu are just sending the ecu a signal to tell it to swap tune over and all this happens at 3800 purly by chance or the vacuum preesure solanoid was made to work at this rpm as they found it was the best time for it to change over

No, the ECU sends 12V to switch a vacuum solenoid.

Trust me, i've configured it on an aftermarket ECU :)
