When I had my Fairmont in getting rust removed I had the panel place refit the XR front skirt cause it didnt look right. The way it was refitted was much better than the standard fitment because it looks chunkier and lower to the ground. Here is a pic of it

The pic below is the standard Ford fitment of the front skirt. I prefer the top pic on my Fairmont better. The pic below is just basically extending forward and not down. The bottom of the skirt is flush with the bottom of the standard front.
