I put the Low Wiper Washer FLuid mod into my FUturua a few months aog and revisit ed it today.
My prioblem is I cant keep water in teh bottle. I bought a whole new bottle from the wreckers (it had the sensor in there, I dont know if you can fit hte sensor into an existing bottle). It didnt come with a plug so I put my Futura one in there. But it still leaks water when I try to fill it up. So I pulled the plug out and put it in the old Futura washer bottle and it leaks. Is there a special type of plug that the Fairmont (in the car now) needs to stop it leaking water? |

The car is recognising the sensor no issues, its just not holding water.

Sometimes the sensors leak themselves you have to check with the bottle out of the car and filled with water. There is a special gromet from Ford see Steve at Sunshine ford Southport he is very knowlegeable although a bit grumpy.

If all else fails use a little Silastic around the gromet as you put it in

I dont think its the sensor, its coming out of the plug hole on the side. Maybe a shaved cork bottle will fix it? |

THe black plug goes into a hole that is located in the middle on the side on the bottom of the bottle.

Sounds like the leak is coming from the washer motor seal plug. As mentioned, best way to check is to fill the bottle with water, with low sensor and washer motor and plug fitted (with it's tube connected), and check where the leak is coming from. If the washer motor plug is leaking, simply replace it.
Post up your results . . . .

Yeah, that's the one - you should be able to grab a couple for a couple of bucks from the wreckers - they generally seal quite well, provided they don't have splits in them - take them out carefully, as hard pulling will split them on removal. Make sure your washer motor is seated properly as well.
