Taken from the Alpine website :

Ford Premium System Integration

If you drive a BA Ford Falcon or Territory with a premium factory audio system (colour LCD display unit) VehicleHub opens a whole new world of entertainment options. Currently under development and coming later this year, our third party adapter provides the gateway to integrate VehcileHub with the Ford factory system. With this revolutionary upgrade option, through the factory audio system and colour LCD display panel, you can enjoy DVD and Video CD, TV, rear view camera, plus view and select albums, artists and playlists from your iPod. Even more exciting, control of your entertainment sources is easy via VehicleHub's wireless remote control and simple graphic user interface (GUI).

Good to see a proactive approach to overcome the BA integrated headunit - I think it will yield some good results...I know I'll be watching it closely - some great opportunities to be had there :)

any idea what happened to all the work that had been discussed on FM1 about the adapters? i remember a couple of guys had made VGA->ICC adapters, but there was a lot more work that needed to be done to get them functioning correctly

Also good to see companies providing software and such for that headunit, must be worth creating this kind of stuff for.

good to see.

There are already 2 companies that offer intergrated options for the BA systems.

The Blaupunkt one is a simple plug in and use the auxilary input to run DVD's through the colour screen while maintaining all the functionallity of the BA premimum system such as the air con and all display conmtrols etc...

I think from memory i can get them for about $220....

There is a guy here in QLD with and XR6 Turbo pimped out to the max. Top audio and sound system and f**k quick car after his now installed aps stage 3 kit. He has one of those adaptors in his car which makes his front premium sound turn in to a tv/dvd. Its f**k great. His car was in one of the ford mags . . PASHEN. i think he is on fordmods . . . ask him about adaptors he knows.
