Seeing as I am DUMB when it comes to car audio ... was just wondering if the amp I was referred to is capable to make my two 12" JL Audio subs sounds good.

As far as I know the subs need to be in a 1-1.75 cubic foot box (each sub) ... as per specs for them.

12W0 (as far as I know mine are the 4ohm ones)

Voice Coil: 1.38" diameter, 6-layer, Kapton former

Sealed Enclosure Range: 1.00-1.75 cu.ft. (28.3-49.5 liters)
Ported Enclosure Range: 1.75-2.75 cu.ft. (49.5-78.0 liters)

Now ... I have been told the Jaycar D-class amp would be suitable for my setup .... just wanting to mae sure that it it.

Here are the spec of the amp.

Specifications:
Power / channel @ 4ohm 14.4V: 400WRMS x 1
Power / channel @ 2ohm 14.4V: 700WRMS x 1
Power / channel @ 1ohm 14.4V: 820WRMS x 1
Signal/Noise ratio: >90dB
Input sensitivity: 200mV - 6V
Low pass filter: 35 - 300Hz @ 12dB/octave
Bass boost: 0 - 18dB @ 30 - 120Hz

And for $399 ... the Jaycar amp looks to be a bargain as well ... I have heard good things about their caraudio equipment too.

Also read the Jaycar amp has remote sub level control as well ... kinda handy too I think.

Hey Simon,

This Jaycar amp will do just fine.

you'll be presenting a 2ohm load which means the amp can deliver 700W RMS for your 2 subs to share. Considering they are rated at 125W RMS each this will be perfect with lots of headroom.

Headroom is the secret to long life and best possible sound quality.

Good ... thanks for the explanation on that ... I understand a bit better now.

If things go well I might even get Pyroay's DynAudio System 340 (7", 3", 1") front stage with underseat enclosures as well.

Mmm ... why no just go the whole hog .... can make some money back off my Pioneer 6" bullet cone splits.
