OK, my mate has a EH wagon with a bored out 202 (red) motor, he has heard that if he gets a VK head and manifolds that a falcon ECU and injectors will run it quite well (i have an EA multipoint ECU injectors and loom that ill sell to him cheap)
what sensors are needed (at a minimum) im thinking Tacho coolent temp OXY MAP TPS (may be a bit of trouble on that one) unless and EA TB will fit the VK manifold missed any and are there any other thoughs/considerations?

Air intake temp
Vehicle speed sensor may be required.... not sure tho So you're gonna fit a ford TFI module to this thing? Or run an aftermarket ignition or something?

dunno, but id say it would be easiest just to leave his standard dizzy in there, i dont think the speed sensor HAS to be fitted (hopefully not anyway).
what about fuel pressure regulator? will the VK injection one do or is a cutom fuel rail with a falcon fuel pressure reg in order (oh and fuel pump too)

But yes - you'll need the correct fuel pressure. Yeah, if its got a carby fuel pump in it, you'll need to replace with an EFI spec one...

yeh, the EA-ED reg is part of the fuel rail, will probably have to make up a custom fuel rail (or attach the EA reg to the VK rail)
what are the fuel rails made out of? looks like steel with some kind of coating on it?

hey, where is the IAT sensor located anyway (i think it might be on the side of the plenum, but im not sure)

isn't the speed sensor only needed for autos?

thats what i thought, im pretty sure its not needed at all, only for electronic speedo, speed limiter (which EA ECU's dont even have) and for the auto.
Does the VK EFI head bolt onto a red 202 block, my mate is trying to tell me that the "black" 202 (as in the VK) is infact a nissan motor (he says RB30) and that the VL motor was an RB40 (yes i know he is completely and utterly confused) im just gettign the facts straight for myself. 202 head is a 9 port head (6 exhast 3 siamesed intake) 202 EFI head is 12 port (6 exhaust 6 intake - crossflow) (but still fits the same block right?) and the VL head is something completely different (thats what i'd say he is thinking of) I know this probly aint the right forum to be on, but hey if it ends up with ford parts on a holden the ends justify the means.

202 was never crossflow. The 202 EFI ran a 12 port non crossflow head.
VL ran RB30 which was crossflow. Why muck arround with EA MPFI ecu etc, find a wrecked calais and grab the VK EFI gear off that. The biggest issue will come from the fact that the EA ECU runs MAP fuel tables and as such with a capaciy reduction from 4.0L to 3.3L the engine will run arround 20% rich all the time.

ok, that clears some more problems up then, he just has the VK/VL motors confused but of course when i tried to explain to him that the VK head would fit the 202 block I was wrong went and asked my uncle (mechanic) and he says the same VK head will fit red 202.
His 202 is significantly overbore - and he had heard that the EA ecu and bits gave better performance than the VK gear (the OXY sensor should be able to compensate for the different capacity motors) As soon as he finds out that its gonna cost him a few dollars he will give up on the idea - he even recons the CRS blower kits are "too expensive" for the benifit they give.
