Hey again
I've been looking around and can't seem to get prices for the following ALPINE components. Can anyone give me a full set of prices?

2x MRD-M1005 Mono Power Amplifier
2x SWR-1242D Type-R 12" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer
2x SPR-17LS Type-R 6 1/2â€￾ Component 2-way Speaker
2x SPR-17LP Type-R 6-1/2â€￾ Coaxial 2-way Speaker

I've already got prices in US$ but obviously that isn't very helpful considering the freight will cost me my first born. Also, if anyone can recommend a decent mp3 head unit that has a quick-search feature (so i can seek quickly thru 60-minute mp3's) and good sound quality as well as a face that isn't cheap plastic. Thanks for all your help guys.

firstly, what car do you have. cause if u own an ef-el the type r aren't gonna fit in the front or the back.
if i was u i would do what i did. go for type s series instead. type r just have a bit more base but will cost u an arm and a leg for the alpine amp to run them. the type s are still very hard pumping subs and i believe much clearer.

Good luck building this system by the way - sounds like it'll go pretty hard!

I've got the 9855 headunit in PYROLY, bery nice unit with plenty of features + it won Sound and IMage awards headunit of the year...
System sounds good, 2 monoblocks will provide plenty of bottom end through the 2 x 12's....

this is similar to my system i have just installed. However i went the 5.25" in the front and only 1 MRD605 to drive two sub's. And i am getting way too much bass. Its nice and clear, tight bass sounds; And thats with the subs facing into the boot. I think i will reverse it this weekend and see how it sounds

I have an EF, but i've seen many threads on here about how people are fitting 6.5" splits into the doors and rear shelf. Apparently the hole IS big enough, it all depends on the size of the magnet. If that happens to be an issue, i've seen people talk about putting a small MDF spacer in to accommodate the speaker. I'd much rather have Type R's than S's... never buy budget even from a good brand such as alpine. Plus, with the dual 4 ohm voice coil, i can take them out of my car and put them in a house box at 8 ohm any time i want to have a barbie and piss off the neighbours. Anyway, thanks to the fella who gave the link to the catalogue... will come in extra handy. Cheers guys, will update when i've bought and installed this system.
