Listen to mine this afternoon and I think the bearings are either dry or stuffed ... a slight rumbly noise seems to be coming from it. Are they a serviceable unit or is it just replacement time. How expensive for parts, coz I'll most probably do it myself if needs be.

Apperntly you can get the holden kit for these for like $20... which includes the front seal, and bits and pieces...

The ford ones are more expensive but have an extra bit AFAIK.

Ive gotta do mine soon too. And they are serviceable, just most people go to the wreckers and get another unit.

Cheers

I think theyre around 385 or something brand new from ford? thats what they suggested to me initially, with a conversion from multi to single belt, to eliminate my problem. But 385 for a pump, plus everything else for the conversion seemd a bit rich to me :D

The serpentine conversion isn't the cheapest option really.. lol, you need pulleys, water pump, and the idler. Not cheap at all.

Cheers

if you get the holden kit you'll need 2 as it is missing one seal.
and you can do it yourself, recomend a repair manual.
have you tried just giving it a service.

I checked the level and it was a bit low so topped it up. I'll keep an eye on it.
