For some reason my plastic shroud has come apart on my steering column. I thought easy, just redo up the screws NAHHHH!!!
The screws are in tight in the bottom half, but has still come away from the top half. Does anyone have a solution, is it just rooted inside, snapped off or does it have to be in a perfect way for screws to go in?

Has to be in a perfect way for the screws to fit sungly. Lie underneath it in the drivers footwell compartment and you should get a better view of it from there.

I'd say the lug part has snapped off from the top section as well. Same thing happened to mine. Normally, Id replace the whole bit, but since mine is column change i gotta live with it, too hard to find replacements in wreckers. For a floor shift it should be pretty easy to find a new cover

Thanks guys.

I checked it out Friday, and yeah, the lugs inside which are so brittle and flimsy it just isn't funny, were broken.
So I got on the horn to Ford spares and it turns out I could order the upper part of the shroud separately it costs, get this, $9.75. For a brown one. I don't get the logic of their pricing sometimes. I remember 2 years ago the whole center console cost me all up $65.00.
Yet a bolt can cost $10.00.

So this leads me to my next question. How the F$%& do you install it without breaking something because f&&^ me I can't seem to be able to master it. The only way I see it being done correctly, is by taking the end part of the ignition barrel off.
Any pointers?

You shouldntneed to rempve the ignition barrel or face for memory, ive removed my bottom half before n it took a fuk load of playing around but it went back on properly..
Havent touched the top half; id be inclined to let ford do it so long as they dont rip u as they are very fragile..

They are bastards to get off. I broke mine when I took it off. As far as I remember I was also surprised to find out how cheap they are from Ford too. I think I got quoted $25 for the upper and lower parts.

There probably that cheap because Ford probably sells 100,000 of the f**k anually.
You'd have to be pretty f*&%ing good to be able to re-assemble the bottom part of the shroud without chipping, or breaking anything. I knew I should have ordered 5!
