hey guys,
i still have a fair bit of tred left on my Goodyear GA Plus 205/65/15's but next time i get new tyres i want a lower profile tyre, i was thinking 60, would that be the best? also what would be a good size to go for? 205,215,225 (keeping in mind im not the richest man alive  
thirdly what lower profile tyre would you suggest? cheers Daniel p.s. how much more expensive are lower profile tyres?

I replaced mine recently with Bridgestone Grid II 215/60/15 $135 each. I have found them to be much quieter than the Goodyears they replaced. Also better grip in the wet.

DAMN you! I got my Grid II's for $140 each HA HA. Yes they are heaps better in the wet than the, Sing now-" Slip-sliding away.. hey yeah hey" original G Grids I's

Looks like you have 15 x 7" wide rims there...
thus 215/60 or 225/60 will go on OK. I'm running 225/60 on my car, Madison on the rear and GT Radials on the front. Madisons came with the car and I bought the GT Radials for $125 each. They aint Pirellis or something like that but they go fine for regular driving. The wider tyre has to work harder in the wet to disperse water, but in the dry they are great...!! I'd suggest getting a front wheel alignment with the new tyres, save you scrubbing out 6 months wear if its a bit out.... (happened to me)... Good luck with your choice. |

bobjane have p6000 215/60/15 on special at the moment for $137ea (normally abt $150). they are a good tyre i have them on the back now. try yokohama c.drives have heard only good things, cost abt $150 a pop.
if you can't afford this some of the kuhmo's are very good and cheap. good luck.

EB92, have you found the madisons to be f******g useless in the wet? i've got them on my xf, and in the wet its piss easy to get it to slide.... a couple of friends run the same tyres and have found the same problem.... good rubber when its dry tho

I suggest getting a set of Yokohama C- drives these are bloody awesome tyres great in the wet and on the sticky stuff.
for a 225/60/15 you will be paying roughly $160 a tyre.
Or for a not so expensive alternative get the S-760's, Yoko's as well.

Got some Dunlop SP Sport 300E tyers on mine. Excellent grip, wet and dry and long wear. Silica too.
