Ok, I know I was warned, but my bloody needles are impossible to see at night. It looks dreadful cause the dash looks really nice, and there are all these dull needles.

I've experimented with several different ways of painting them, but there all s**t.

If anyone has a set of '"BRIGHT GLOWING"' Red EF FALCON needles. Im willing to buy them off you.

BTW, since I pulled my dash out and fitted the needles, the fuel light is coming on really early, I read somewhere that the white dials can be calibrated differently, but they appear the same.

When it is full, the gauge is in the right place and the needle doesnt appear to be sticking at all.

Any help or sellers??

You can put your dash in diagnostic mode - http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=12 . You can then compare the analogue and digital fuel readings - 10L or less will trigger the low level warning.

yeah, i bought them and they are crap!! dont illuminate at all!!

When the light came on, I filled the car and it took 58L, but the needle was still way over 1/4 tank. As far as I know, I only have a standard 68L tank, so not sure whats going on!

Yeah, sometimes you won't have a win - but you have to try . . .

Try what I've suggested, you can then work out whether it's a sender or indicator issue, just by noting the digital readout - I would've thought it was an indicator issue, considering that was the area you disturbed - maybe the needle was positioned wrong, or not seated properly - they will slip if they're sitting on loosely. Check the range of movement by lifting the pointer to full and watch it return to empty.

I had to get some white needles off a EF falcon for my blue LED dash mod... The blue light wasn't lighting up the needles at all at night.

That might be an idea for you to consider.

I will try to get a pic up for you if i can.

g'day cobbers

just a thought about dial accuracy for all you guy's painting needles the extra paint makes the needles heavier which will effect the accuracy. shouldn't be to drastic though.
