i recently changed the bearings in the engine ,it had a knocking noise so i replaced the crank,rod bearings,timing chain,oil pump head gasket ,all replaced new but still hass a knocking noise could the rockers or something in that area make that noise .

piston slap maybe? Did you do new pistons/rings and rebore? Could be the pins.

didnt change rings it wasnt using any oil compression is 180 across all and cylinder walls looked really good so we left them as they were.

Compression was around 180?? is that normal. On my gauge I only get between 150-160... Should I be worried...

i put the au metel head gasket on dont know if that ups the compression that much but 150-160 is still ok

sorry abouy the extra post buts whats piston slap like whats it doing in the engine ive heard the gen3 engines doing this.

not enough money it only costed me $300 ,the engine runs perfect heaps of power just plant the foot and the wheels spin ,the pistons were starting to get costly.
