 i got a prob with the air bag warning light on my EF fairmont.
when i turn the ignition on, or start the car, after it goes out, it flashes twice, it does this 3 or 4 times then comes on and stays on, I've tried to clear the memory as discribed in the workshop manual( turn on ign, wait for airbag light to go out,then connect wire from a/b mem term to earth term in the diagnostic plug, wait for 5 chimes or light to go out, ) no luck so far. Anyone got any idea what is happening, or do i need to go to ford to find the answer? sure hope you guys can help, thanks.................Perevem

You can only clear transient errors, if it does not clear then chances are that there is a permanent problem that needs attention, the diagnostics will be the best indicator of the problem, record the flashes then look up the doco on this forum to see where the problem is.

found the code, is code 12, low battery voltage, i take it
it means the car battery, couldnt see any other in the manual, cheers................perevem

perevem wrote: found the code, is code 12, low battery voltage, i take it Not Sure but I suspect if you are not having any trouble with the car battery, then it is the battery internal to the system which is used to deploy the bag in the event of an accident where the car battery is destroyed. I would think this is a Ford repair.
it means the car battery, couldnt see any other in the manual, cheers................perevem Cheers TW.
