Well, after doing lots of reading and learning, I am becomming a little concerned with the 3.4" Stroke/5.4" rod combo. I've currently got the Scat 9000 Series 3.4" stroke crank sitting in the garage, and a set of Scat I Beam Forged 5.4" Rods. I figure now is a good time to change my mind about Rods, before i buy pistons to suit.
The 5.315" rod seems to be the solution for the wrist pin vs oil ring land battle. Are there any con's to this setup?

DON'T worry about the gudgeon pin in oil ring!!!
There has to be holes there so it mat as well be the pin..The longer rod will give you better ratio and less side load on your pistons..Btw on my C.P pistons they had tool steel insert to support oil control ring...

Fair enough.. I've found a few pistons suited to the 3.2/5.4 combo which have measures in place to reduce oil burn. JE forgies look to be the go at this point.
