Alright, my window shrouds have been resprayed but the paint looks like it has turned out a bit crappy. It's not smooth and has quite a few bumps / bubbles through it.
Any suggestions on how I could fix this? I was thinking about taking it to a professional spray painter and getting them to do it. Last edited by lukey on Sun Oct 30, 2005 8:43 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

my freinds a spray painter and i have the same problem he told me it couldnt be fixed because the plaseic is rubbery and it sucks int he paint and the paint coroids the rubber/plastic.
but if u want to, get some builders bog and patch it all up and then smooth it down with some fine sand paper until all smooth this is what i might do to mine i think it will work well. BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD ON IT I HAVENT DONE IT YET ITS JUST A THEORY LOL. good luck any ways |

Hard to say what the problem is without seeing it, painting plasics is reasonably easy if you use the correct primers and additives, they have to be very thoroughly cleaned though, especially interior plastics on older cars... paint hates armourall with a passion and the damn stuff soaks in. sanding them back, treating them with a good quality adhesion promoter designed for plastics and priming with a good quality 2K primer should put things right. I have been painting cars and bikes professionaly for over 20 years so if you want some help feel free to drop a line.
