hey guys
just spent the day tryin to get the lower hose off my radiator (EB falcon) to drain it. which i mistakenly thought was gonna be a fairly quick job. took the clip off, and have tried everything to remove the hose. tried lubing it off with WD40, tried twisting and pulling the thing off, but the stubborn bastard won't move. i've taken plenty of hoses off before but never seen one stuck on like this before, it's freakin me out. it's a fairly new hose too so i don't wanna cut it off since there is nothing wrong with the current one, aside from the fact it won't f..kin budge! anyone got any suggestions?

try getting a screw driver flat head and and try prying it out, u need to break the seal, but be carefull not to damage the hose doing that which can be easy to do. u will get it.

boil the kettle and pour hot water on it and /or make a u shaped lever out of 1/4 rod and flatten the end to be like a screwdriver shape and insert this under the hose and lever and pull to break the seal

What 'tiny56' said. Sounds the go to me
When you put it back on, use a bit of non-hardening gasket goo or at least a squirt of Inox or Lanolin spray (not WD-40, it wrecks rubber) |

Make sure the auto trans line isnt pushing into the side of teh rubber and stopping it from shifting!

if your hose is old. cut it off and get a new one saves you replacing in the future + peace of mind incase you damage your old one from removal.

I use usually use multigrips to 'break' the seal and then they slide off really easy.
Dont the radiators have a drain plug? Take off the lower splash guard and there is a hole in the underbody so you can get a socket to undo the plug. Mines an EL so might be different. |

Lol, damn flangs on the radiator fittings...
Usually only when they've been on there for AGES they stick like that. Will be much easier next time.
