the only way is to try and track down a crogdahle twin cam head.
but he stoped making them a few years back so you'll find it hard. also any one who has one will mega $$$$$ for it. |

i think it would be easier to try and fit a ba 6 in it (wich wouldnt be that easy) as its to high for the e series engine bay, modified bonnet will do the trick

The reason there is not many, if any, DOHC I6 heads to be found is that they produced no more power then a stock head could, so other then being different, it would be the biggest waste of money in chassing power.
Put a BA motor in, will be far cheaper easier, and more parts avalaible.

Do a google on "krogdahl dohc" for more info or whats left of it, they appear to be not doing business anymore.

Put a BA motor in, will be far cheaper easier, and more parts avalaible. you are joking arn't you. they could make alot more power. simply changing only the head and having the EF XR6 cam profile ground onto the twin cams produced 40hp more than the stock head. it also got a full bodied torana with a twin cam 202 to run in the nines on carbs with no nos. the same head fitted both engines. the head came in 2 forms, large port and small port. you could order any size valve that could fit the chamber. as for parts that easy too. it used all off the shelf parts. toyota bucket followers, standard size timming belt. all the tensioners and idler pullies were all off the shelf toyota. and the best bit with fitting one is you dont need a $7000 worth of motec to run it. that the b**ch about about the VCT in the BA motor. |

If you got a BA half cut the ECU is now in the engine bay. Just use that.

you can't use it. it needs a signal from al the other other body control modules to work |

If you were keen had money and time a plenty a BA DOHC engine swap would be the go. The BA head will flow very well and the bottom end is good for 6000rpm. I guess you would just have to run without the vct control and advance up the cam or run custom profile cams to suit non activation of the VCT.
The engine height and sump may still be a problem though. All up you would be so much better off just getting your head ported and polished and fitted with a oversize exhaust valves. This would improve the flow a hell of a lot for a quarter the price or less |
