if i rev my car up a bit it takes a little while to return to idle. whats the go there?

soes it just drop revs slowly? or does it ease off a lil then suddenly drop back to idle?

I've had my engine in bits recently and now that it is assembled my idle isn't perfect either. After some driving mine goes to 1000rpm and then 10 seconds there it drops back to 750rpm. I put it down to idle controller or vacuum.

it's in the programing of the ECU, the idle speed motor is whats causing it. dissconect it then rev you car and see what it does. i was thinking of put an RPM switch on mine so it only becomes active under 1700rom that way the revs dont hang but i still get idle control for power steering and A/C idle up |

Disconnect your ISC valve and it will drop like a 'normal' car.
As tickford_6 said, its the programming of the ECU, its ment to do it. And it really pisses me off  Thats why I had mine disconnected for so long

Bozz,
I'd be really interested in that circuit. That would be ideal, best of both worlds. I prefer to have mine disconnected as I have a mandual and its much nicer to drive when the revs have dropped before you let the clutch out when shifting gears. But it is actually connected at the moment because of the advanced timing, its running a bit rough.. might of gone a bit too far advanced  but that is what a knock sensor is for

Yeah mate.
had the same problem with mine. remove the isc and clean it thoroughly. with carb cleaner , when finished just check to see that the plunger moves backwards and forwards with ease. |
