hi

yes avgas has traces of small amounts of lead but some there are other racing fuels also

heres some more interesting reading "Depends on the mothballs. Old ones were made from naphthalene. Something like 99.9%. Good psuedo octane boost and similar in nature to nitromethane. If the balls are not made from naphtha (I can't recall the substance used most commonly today), there will be no gain ........ "

quoted from this site http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=29471

just some trivial info

There is nothing quite like the smell of an Avgas burning Ski Race boat. I would recommend if you haven't already, get to a big ski race once in your life. Southern 80 is a classic...

Dammit, now I can't wait till next Feb for the Southern80...
FPV_GTp, they did that mothball thing on Mythbusters, great show, and it actually helped whatever engine they were doing it on run smoother!
Actually thinking of Avgas, there was a guy at my old highschool who ran a KX80 on a 50:50 mix of Avgas and 2 stroke, he'd shaved the head to give it more compression.
Went pretty hard for an 80, and lasted at least 4 months :D

I used to run methanol in my old speedway modified production
loved that smell - good for clearing out the nose too.
