its my understanding that these are platinum plugs. (this is how come they say 1st major service not req till 100 000k) these will set u back $130 give or take and the major benefit is longevity. i run iridiums on mine and can't say i noticed much dif to the ngk r's i had b4.

Hi to all.
After i cleaned this item my engine is running spot on. This sensor is the most important in the system, as this is what picks up the pip signal to fire the injectors and ignition coil pack. There is a way to find out if its working correctly. Let the engine idle in drive with the handbrake firmly applied. Listen to the injectors pulsing, should be a steady tick, tick, tick noise. if the injectros sound irregular , then that is a sure bet that the pip signal is lost from the crank sensor. I also noticed that the 2 wires should have a earth shield around them. When these wires get hot , they tend to go high in value. Believe me , it worked on mine. Next step go to d**k smith or jaycar and buy a metal jacket shielded 2 wire output cable , roughly 2 metres long and reroute the crank wires away from the engine, clip the wires at the sensor and join the new cable there, next determine the input pins in the ecu and clip the wires there also, then connect the new cable there also. the earth braid section off the cable should be earthed with a screw to the body. This is where the problem is , i can assure you of that. Also reverse the leads to the plugs. spark plug one to 6 on the igniton coil, Spark plug six to 1 on the coil pack and so on. If you require further info please feel free to contact me and i will help you on the phone. My phone number is 9465 1414.. |

Till, do it yourself!
you only need to take the thermo fans out (2 bolts and 2 plugs) take the belt cover off (1 bolt) and then unclip the cable, undo 2 8mm bolts (1/4" socket is fine) and clean it. Reverse process and its a breeze!
