I have been fitting central locking and the last lock LHS Rear caused the locking system to cycle lock / unlock.

Not wanting to wait to replace the s/h lock I decided to open it and see whats what. Everything inside was like brand new. Then I noticed two diodes in clips. A quick check with the multimeter showed that one was short circuit. Litraly pulled it out and replaced it with a new one, problem solved. U can use any general purpose diode IN4001 - 4007.
Hope this may save some people a few dollars and fraustration.
:D :D

Also some intermittent problems with these locks are the diodes making intermittent contact within the holder, solution is to solder them in.
Cheers

This is a very common problem, atleast with EF-EL to my knowledge.
Its happening intermittently to my car, and it happens all the time to my mate's EF Futura.

This is REALLY handy to know :D
