Heyas,

I'm evantualy going to put in a 6cyl 4.1 on an XE SPac 82 model.... two and half inch extractors(piping) - an two and half inch exaust all way through.. I already know it only should be done if I want to turbo the car(recon it's worth turbo'n anyway?), but it's only carby! - anyway i'm going straight off the bat and saying it's going to be illegal, what do yas think?

I also putting in ultra super lows pedders.

Cheers!

Yeah, I understand about the 'sitting too low' thing... but I guess i'll learn from my mistakes when I get pulled over (everyone I know inc. my brother who recently purchased a ed mpi with ultra suspension an 2 half inch exaust with three inch tip an extractors - hasn't been pulled over yet.) - purchased from a car sales yard and the bloke got a road worthy for it.

thanks! see how everything goes =)

2 and a half inch isnt that big and its not that loud...
If you have no mufflers then yes, its illegal.

I never got done in my EA with 2.5" zorst and pacies (2.5" piping) with the rear muffler chopped off, an that was damn loud.

EDIT:
Also you really dont need to go any lower then Super Lows :)
Ive had many a copper climbing under my EL and checking it over, any lower and I rekon i'd be in trouble, but for now i havent been done :)

turbo charging will cost around 8 grand. if not more, depending on wut you want.

Go and look at you car, and ask yourself whether you committed in doing something like that and have the cash.

And u should also realise, you gearbox and diff will break down not long after the turbo is installed. Do u really want to fork out more money to fix it ???

is it worth it ??

g'day

Having the exact same thing in my wagon currently i know what you canget away with.
Extractors with 1 straight through muffler will pass noise tests. And those pedders dont actually sit the car that low. The sills will sit at 120mm, the lowest point (if the exhaust is tucked up) will be the front crossmember which will be at 105mm. Ive never been d**k for 2 low or 2 loud.

Cheers

When you say you want 2.5" extractor piping is that for the primaries or the collector? If its the primaries its way too big even on a turbo motor. The biggest primaries I have seen is 2" and that's on an 800hp VL turbo.

Its all because you own a ford, the cops look at it and go, its not a VL so there must be nothing wrong :D

I have never been pulled up to this day by a TMU, even when my bonnet was all bent from the accident, its stock outside, and the exshust is louder than stock.

But my mate is his stock VL, and i mean stock, no tints, intercepter 15"s with holden hub caps, everything standard, and hes been pulled over about 10times now by TMU's

just proves how good fords are
