Gday all, got a problem with my power mirrors on my EL Xr6 ute,
basically Ive got no vertical movement on either mirror - only go from side to side. Do they have seperate vertical and horizontal motors?

Also a while ago there was talk about getting some different coloured Ford badges, Im still chasing a red one - anyone end up getting any with pics

my guess, if the vertical movement is gone on both mirrors, is that the hand controller might need fixing. Im not sure it can be pulled apart, but i doubt a second hand one from the wreckers would cost that much. just my opinion btw, i think it would be highyly unlikely for both mirrors to die at the same time.

ronin is probably right..... try pushing the switch in while you try to adjust the mirrors up and down

just as a completely wild outside chance, when i took my door trim of once i didnt quite put the plug in properly. i had left hand full movement, but my irght mirror only moved up and down. or something like that.

you havent been playing with your trims have you?

My EL (XH) xr6 ute has the same thing , but when i replaced the mirror itself i noticed that the only way to adjust them up and down is to push on them. Electrics only move mirror in or out not up or down.

Mirror problem fixed - turned out it was a dodgy switch.
Went down to the local bogan run (old bogans never die) Ford wreckers,
and managed to pick up a new switch - good as new, got both horizontal and vertical movement in both mirrors now.
All up cost me $15 for the new switch - funnily enough I rang Ford to see how much they wanted for the same part, hows this, $98.30.
I hung up the phone still laughing at the guy...
