Its a factory fit..so im assuming ford put it on. It doesn't look part of the pipe..it looks like a slip-on job but i just can't figure how to pry it off...it has a few little clip things seem to be caught on the pipe..I was thinking just jamming a flathead screwdriver between the pipe and the tip and prying it loose... any other suggestions?

when i replaced that stock tip on my ghia we tried taping it off with a cold chiesl and a hammer but that didnt work so we cut it of infront of the muffler and welded a new pipe on and obviosly the tip too. only set me back $30 bucks parts and labour at the exhaust shop

You'll see that the tip actually has two indents, so the further it goes on, the tighter it will hold. I.e. the bottom of the tip is like this (___/\____/\___) So the two /\, grips onto the exhaust pretty tight. Your gonna need to use a bit of force, maybe use some material so u dont scratch it, otherwise they are only $20-40 or something from Autobahn or Supercheap or wherever.

Carefully cut a slot down the length of it with a small angle grinder, then it should pull of easily.
