The upgrade kits from pbr for example consist of a whole new brake setup, which in most parts i think is bigger rotors/pads/bigger calipers n spindles for the calipers to obtain clearance.
These will only fit in 17"+ sized rims and cost around the $2000 mark i think..

This isnt cheap, but as i said, this is full on upgrade, not just changing bits here 'n' there,

firstly how much does the boat and trailer weigh?

does the trailer has electric brakes?

I run DBA pawprint vetilated unslotted,
EBC greens
dot 5.1 fluid
and stainless steel braided lines.
the car pulls up bloody hard..

I do track days in it, supersprints mainly.. but it out brakes alot of other things out there..
Jags, Clubbies, even xr turbo's with premo brakes..

the one thing that is the most overlooked is the brake fluid..
dot 5 has a much higher boiling point than any dot 4 and is hence able to apply a stronger braking force for longer...

that is when coupled with everything else in the package..

I personally steer away from slotted rottors..
I've seen em crack with more consistancy than any other rotor.. regardless of manufacturer.

seen em go on porches's, holduns, falcon's my own included, triumphs, 2 merc's.. and a few others..

only ever seen 1 unslotted crack and that was an unventilated solid rear.

electric brakes on a trailer are fantastic, I know you can get em done for about $800 fitted.

then you really only have your car plus a bit of weight to pull up instead or car and boat..

you will find that stopping with a brake assisted trailer much easier going mechanically too..

lay out the funds initially and it will repay you cause your brakes will last more than 20,000 kays..

I got that out an old car I had with an unassisted trailer with a 2 ton boat that only went down the street a few times a week..

got the brakes on the trailer and got the normal amount out the brake setup again..

Agreed. Electric brakes on trailers carrying large loads are an absolute must.
Towing a 2 tonne boat is an absolute cinch when it's got trailer brakes.

dc_todd: I am also thinking of taking my car to the track. Have DBA Slotted and Lucas pads all round. I got them to put in the DOT 5.1 stuff too.

Do you find you get much fade? Mine is great on the street.
