I need to change my top radiator hose and flush the radiator and i want to get rid of that red stuff that looks like mud when it dries. I have heard that certain types of coolant will damage the engine internals and or cause prob's with sensors etc... Can anyone tell me exactly what type i can and cant use. The blokes at the spare parts shop couldn't tell me for sure.

just whaTEVER you do dont buy anti-freeze /anti corrosion concentrate R1 -32 cos you will need to buy 5 bottles of the stuff,,,,stick to ford made products R1-3C concentrate or R1-50 these are the best to use.

I use R1-50
1 litre bottle $35 treats whole cooling system. Make sure you throughly flush out the old coolant, you don't want to mix differant types of coolants.
