Hey Guys
I've got an EA Falcon Series 1 Station Wagon (Date of Manafacture 1989) and just lately its been sucking down more petrol then it ever has, around town I used to be able to get 120k's from 1/4 Tank not its more like 45k's. I know is CFI, would converting it to MPFI help at all? Also is there anyway to tell the difference between a 3.2 and a 3.9 Litre Engine? The actual car isn't too bad, body is it good nick, one minor dent and a few very small rust spots. Since I'm doing a trip away at the end of the year, I don't want to have to be filling up every 300k's or so, specially with the current petrol prices and i'll be doing bout 1500k's. Also just an extra thought but could it be the actual fuel gauge itself? Thanks |

O2 senser would be the first place to start looking, get digital multi meter and tap into the wire to check voltage, should range from 0.2 to about 0.7ish while revving up and down. if stays at set voltage eg 0.5 replace..... if you are not sure where it is, it is on the exhaust pipe about 6-8 inches from the manifold and has 2 wires I think from memory, tap into black one I think, use a pin to put into wire and check voltage swing
