basically remove the hoses, and flush water through the engine, try and get as little as possible on the alternator.
Remember to top up with the correct coolant and concentration of coolant. Why do you feel this needed, if the coolant is green, and the car is driven most days then its all good.

the car has been sitting for a while b4 i bought it so i am thinking that both the oil and coolant would need to be changed, is tectalloy a good coolant brand to use?

AGAIN - NEVER run a motor without oil or water.
You should never mix coolants they can have a chemical reacation. However if you flush water through the engine by removing the thermostat till it runs clear, and dont forget to flush the heater out, also check the condition of the heater tap while you are it, you should be fine to use whatever coolant suits alloy heads and is to your budget.

i emptied mine out when it was warm, so i think it all came out. i then ran the vehicle with a hose in it the overflow bottle and the little hose on the thermostat housing off. when the water comes clear out of there put the hose back on. i then ran it for 2 days like that and flushed it again. and filled it up with Ford cooland
R161, about 60 bucks for a bottle from Ford but enough to do the whole vehicle
