should be on all the time. when you turn your lights on, it should dim itself.

The bulb needs to come on with ignition. Off/accesory it wont be on.

Does the appearance change at all from accessory to ign?

Check you're wiring setup. If the bulb works ok by itself, either the clock module is foobar, or the wiring isn't right.

With the ignition OFF, try pressing one of the clock buttons...this should light up the display. This may help narrow the problem down.

Clock doesn't work like that, only the TC.
