I have a pair of adjustable fans to replace the factory fans in the coon, by changing these off a different circuit (custom) & not using the factory plugs wil this effect the drive ability or anything else for that matter as i want to lower the cut in temperature of the fans, i do believe it will show a fault in the codes, but will this effect anything else?

What sort of car is it? and as long as they turn on, well even if they don't the car will drive. Just make sure that they are switching on properly on the set temperature.

they will turn on, but at a lower temp than the ecu is programmed to do so. I am using a low temp thermostat, which is good on the hghway but as soon as I hit traffic the fans cut in too late for the way I have the car tuned, creating pinging and a noticable power loss, thats why I wanna go thru with the mod. I wonder if there's way to change the standard cut in temps?

you could probably rig up circuitry, more an amplifier to boost the voltage on the coolant temp sensor line by just a tad, and that would trick the ECU into thinking the car is running hotter. Dodgy but.

Cheers only problem i can see with that is that the ECU uses the coolant sensor as a part of the calculation for fuel mixture therefore i believe that it would cause the engine to run leaner. I believe that i can use an after market thermo switch on the original fans by unplugging them from the ECU & running them from a custom circiut. cheers kenny

Im just saying its possible, it would mean cold starts would become a pain... but the most simple solution is an adjustable thermatic switch..
