My NL bonnet has a nasty stone chip the size of my pinky finger nail and got some surface rust on it - so I painted over it, but it stands out like bird droppings.
Also, some careless person put a dent on top of the bonnet on the driver's side. Did not damage the paint, but dent cannot be pushed out due to the dent being above the strenghtening beams in the bonnet. How much would it cost to get the dents filled and smoothed over, rust removed and painted in dynamic white (NL Fairlane Colour scheme)? Have been quoted $450 for two days work - is that good? Dont think it involves sand blasting, stripping to bare metal etc.

sounds expensive. I have fixed a car that was involved in a accident and I tell you what some of the damage was fairly bad. the total cost of labour for the panel work was $1850 (not including the cost of two new panels) and total for paint work was $1300. so considering that you only have to do a bonnet it sounds expensive. but then again I live in tassie so I can't comment what prices are like over in your state

You pay for good work. So I don't think it's too bad. If they do a bad job, you've got some leverage with them especially with that $ figure.
